Country Brook Montessori School is very fortunate to be able to provide loving, nurturing and experienced classroom staff for all of its students.
Montessori trained and credentialed teachers lead every class at Country Brook. Classroom assistants work hand-in-hand with teachers to ensure consistency and stability for the children. Their support also provides the teachers the opportunity to present a true Montessori experience daily.
A top-rate administrative support team is always on hand to see that the needs of students, teachers, and parents are being met. Our food services manager, administrative assistant, after-school program teachers and classroom staff are led by a school director with over a decade of experience in the North Atlanta area.
Country Brook Montessori School's program is highly sought after due to the overall reputation of its complete program. Quality care, education and support at CBMS are a result of the entire staff's complete respect for the Montessori method, the children, parents and one another. Come see for yourself!
Teacher Training: A wide variety of programs exist for the purpose of training and credentialing Montessori teachers. While there are many training facilities, the two most widely recognized are AMS (American Montessori Society) and AMI (Association Montessori Internationale).
Country Brook Montessori School's owners, Barbara & Leroy Moffitt, are the founders of AMTE (Atlanta Montessori Teacher Education,) a teacher training program recognized by and affiliated with AMS. It is accredited by MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education).
Acceptance into a quality Montessori training program requires a high level of pre-requisite study, often equivalent to a 4-year degree. The training course itself is a combination of classroom/practicum study, research and observation. Upon completion of the practicum training, students are required to spend over 700 hours as supervised classroom interns. They experience and participate with their newly gained knowledge in real-world classrooms. It is only then that final exams can be taken and diplomas awarded.
The training process is one that requires complete commitment and dedication on the part of the prospective teacher and takes a minimum of a full year (though often longer) to complete. All of CMBS's lead teachers have gone though this rigorous training and are fully credentialed.
